Today it was my last cooking workshop here in Malaysia, as I prepare to move back to Australia.
With my two lovely friends Caz and Mila, we made Baku Baklava. It’s a very traditional dessert in my home country Azerbaijan, so I was very excited to share about my culture and show my friends how to make this beautiful and delicious dessert. It’s packed with nutty flavour, generously drizzled with honey and butter what makes it a nutritious super bar. When I feel very naughty, I will have a slice of it for breakfast with my morning tea.
It’s a little time consuming making it, but oh, so worth the effort!
From the leftover dough and nut mixture, we made more sweets!
And, I was lucky enough that my friends agreed to be my guinea pigs and try a new bread, Rustic Sourdough Rye that I baked this morning and some Basil Pesto. I think they enjoyed it. Well, they didn’t run for the door so I guess it was a good sign.
I hope you will enjoy the pictures and if you would like or consider making Baklava visit my sisters page culinarymosaic.com
There she gives full instructions on how to make this delight.
